Spam comments

I haven’t posted spam comments in a while, and it’s probably a good thing because it doesn’t really help this site’s machine reputation. These are some of the better ones that I’ve seen lately, though, so I’m going to post them anyway.

I missed September’s spam comments and either I accidentally deleted them or WordPress did some housekeeping.

There were a lot of really obvious spam, but not too many notable ones this month. Then again, I’m posting this earlier than I usually do.

Spam comments on `The Penguin’ says… for October 2013

I seem to have a lack of time to do anything lately. Sorry I can’t add any comments to this one yet (I haven’t even finished the last one!), but I’ll let you go through them. They seem to be getting a little more intelligent!

I’ve decided to make this topic a regular. Every month, I will post the best spam comments I get on this blog. Hey, I would do this with regular comments, too, but none of you have been saying anything! (Some of you have already, and I thank you for that)

Please understand that I’m not encouraging spam on this blog. I’m simply posting these because I find them funny and I think you’d find them funny, too. Think of this like Wikipedia’s Bad Jokes And Other Deleted Nonsense (BJAODN).

An interesting discussion is definitely worth comment. I do believe that you need to write more on this topic, it might not be a taboo matter but generally people don’t talk about such topics. To the next! Kind regards!!

These are bar jokes. Of course people don’t generally talk about them. Although I could go into an analysis of bar jokes, like Vsauce’s analysis of the classic chicken-crossing-road joke.

Howdy! This post couldn’t be written any better! Reading through this post reminds me of my previous roommate! He always kept talking about this. I most certainly will send this post to him. Fairly certain he will have a very good read. Thanks for sharing!

Well, for one thing, this post was a reblogged image. His roommate must have also been a geek.

Seriously?? Who starts a comment with “Porn blog”? And for some reason, the URL given had the word “christian” at the end!

This is really interesting, You’re a very professional blogger. I’ve joined your feed and
sit up for in quest of extra of your magnificent post. Also,
I have shared your web site in my social networks.

I’m not a professional blogger; I don’t get paid for blogging. But I guess I could if I wanted to…

I promise I’ll finish the rest of them later. I haven’t had the time to properly finish this nor write future posts. In the meantime, you can enjoy the rest of the comments through the image, you just won’t have my response to them.

Spam comment on 2013-04-26

An ironic spam comment received on 2013-04-26 in response to my post for 2013-04-13.

I got this ironic spam comment last week:

Hi there, i read your blog occasionally and i own a similar
one and i was just wondering if you get a lot of spam comments?
If so how do you protect against it, any plugin or anything you can advise?
I get so much lately it’s driving me crazy so any support is very much appreciated.

I average around 5 to 7 spam comments a day. Thanks to Akismet, all these spam comments get put into my spam queue.

So that’s the answer to “Pam”‘s question: Akismet.

What a coincidence! I’ve completely forgotten that May 3 (1978) is the anniversary of the first spam email.
